Lead Teacher

The Role
​
Razum International School is recruiting for a Lead Teacher. The successful candidate will be an internationally qualified teacher, with international and inquiry-based (IPC/IB) teaching experience, some experience in leadership would be advantageous.

The Context
​
Razum opened in August of 2019 to provide quality, affordable education to international students. Razum provides a focused and creative learning environment that specifically grows student understanding in Mathematics, Literacy, Humanities and Science whilst embracing art, music, dance and drama as an important tool in which to explore thinking and learning. By being intentional in our program, students finish at 1pm, allowing them the time needed for external coaching, training and programs that have otherwise not been accommodated for in extended school days.

Lead Teacher / Professional Development Coordinator
Responsibilities:

Leading the Primary School Teaching and Learning, holding responsibility for educational standards across the Primary School.

Be a member of the School Leadership Team.

Leading the development and monitoring of policies relating to Razum’s Teaching and Learning, curriculum and professional development and ensuring that the school’s practice reflects those policies.

Working with the Head of Primary to manage the Students with Specific Needs.

Working with the Head of Primary to lead, manage and develop the teaching expertise, professional development, and wellbeing of all Razum staff.

Establishing high standards of student achievement and behaviour throughout the primary school.
The Teaching and Learning in the Primary School

Coordinate the development and training of all stakeholders with regards to teaching, learning and specific need support.

Working with the Head of Primary, take responsibility for the professional support of Razum teaching staff.

Attend weekly meetings with the Head of Primary.

Attend meetings with the Founders as required.

Assist the Founders and the Head of Primary as required.
Leading Learning and Teaching

Work with the Head of Primary to lead the teaching and learning strategy across the primary school.

Work with the Head of Primary to support staff to develop, organise and implement Razum’s chosen curriculum and supplement programs.

Ensuring that information on pupil progress is used to improve teaching and learning, to inform and motivate pupils, to inform parents and to provide necessary references for other educational institutions.

Contribute to teaching in the school as an excellent practitioner, undertaking an appropriate programme of teaching.

Plan, teach and evaluate a challenging, stimulating, creative and exciting holistic curriculum for all Razum students, including appropriate robust systems for assessment and tracking.
Staff Development

Participate in the development of teaching staff.

Promote staff development through appropriate training and a programme of performance management for assigned staff.

Work with external organisations to ensure that resources and training needs can be met effectively.

Qualifications and Experience
​

A minimum four-year teaching qualification from an international university (Bachelor of Education).

Minimum 5 years of international teaching experience.
-
Evidence of continued relevant professional development.

Professionally developed and experience with inquiry-based curriculum, IPC or IB (IPC preferred).

Native English speaker.
-
Exceptional written and verbal English.
-
At least 2 references from international schools.
