Our School
Astor International School is a boutique international primary school in Singapore that provides education for children 5 to 12 years old (Years 1-7). Founded in 2019, Astor provides quality, affordable education in a nurturing environment that develops lifelong learners with a passion for knowledge.
In 2024, Astor International School was recognized twice for its quality of education and affordable fees, having been awarded the Best Affordable International School in Singapore by HoneyKids Asia and by Which School Advisor.

Individual Approach
At Astor International School, each class has a maximum of 20 students. This low teacher-student ratio ensures that each student receives personalized attention, allowing teachers to customize the learning experience to meet individual needs. Our dedicated educators are committed to fostering a supportive and engaging environment where every student can thrive.
Community Engagement
At Astor International School, community engagement is at the heart of our values. We actively foster strong connections amongst students, families, staff, and the wider community through meaningful collaboration, events, and shared learning experiences. From cultural celebrations and service projects to parent workshops and open dialogue sessions, we create opportunities for everyone to contribute, connect, and grow together. By engaging with our diverse community, we enrich the educational journey of our students and build a supportive environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered.
We regularly contribute to the wider community by organising park and beach clean ups and donations to charities chosen by our students. And last year we adopted a kangaroo named Rambo in Singapore Zoo!
Effective Curriculum
Our curriculum is based on Singapore Math and English and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). We use an enquiry-based learning approach which promotes curiosity and engagement.
We structure our academic day with focus and intention, ensuring that core subjects are taught during the hours when children learn best—without unnecessary interruptions. Our main academic curriculum runs until 1:00 PM, after which students have the option to participate in enrichment classes until 3:00 PM. These enrichment sessions offer opportunities to explore and build skills in areas such as art, music, dance, drama, sports, languages, and more—nurturing cognitive development and encouraging children to discover and expand their personal interests.
Experiential Learning
At Astor International School, we believe that the most meaningful learning happens through hands-on experience. Our students engage in projects like growing mushrooms, writing and publishing their own books, and exploring real-world challenges that spark curiosity and creativity. These experiential learning opportunities allow students to connect academic concepts with practical application, develop critical thinking skills and build confidence through discovery and reflection. By learning through doing, students not only gain knowledge but also a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
Two books written by our Year 5, 6 and 7 students in 2023 and 2024 have been published. "Alexandra around the World" and "Detective Leonardo Hawkins" are a joy to read and can be bought from Amazon.

Creative Campus
Our cozy campus at Tanglin provides a perfect environment for students to enjoy their learning journey. Besides the spacious, naturally-lit classrooms conveniently located on one floor, the campus has a library, an arts and craft room, an outdoor playground and an indoor play space. These spaces allow our students to be involved in different types of activities during the day.
