In this writing, I am going to write about rock vs pop music. Did you know pop and rock music origins date back to the early 20th century? Would you like to know more? Then read on.....


How to distinguish between the music genres rock and pop?

Pop is softer and it has a style that often uses catchy melodies at a soft background with a chirpy and upbeat sound.

Rock is about grit and using the heaviness and grit and also the power of heavier instruments to add catchy melodies.


Facts About Pop and Rock Music.

Pop and rock music first emerged in1950s with artists such as Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. It reached its peak of popularity in the the1980s and 1990s with bands such as Bon Jovi, Nirvana!, and the Spice Girls. Pop music, as a genre, is influenced by various music forms and styles.


Where did pop and rock originate?

Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modem from during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Rock originated from African American music such as jazz rhythm and blues, boogie-woogie, gospel, jump blues, as well as country music.


Conclusion

Today, there are hundreds of different types of pop music, also known as, genres including K-pop (Korean pop) hip hop, electronic dance music (EDM), and rock music.
