Best Small School in Singapore - Nomination

At Astor, small is powerful. Our Tanglin campus accommodates just 120 students, with an average class size of 15. This intentionally boutique structure allows every child to be seen, heard, and supported.

We prioritise what truly matters in education—rigorous academics and a nurturing environment. By streamlining facilities and tapping into community resources for sports and activities, we make international education accessible without compromising quality.

Our curriculum blends the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), Singapore Maths, and British English. With a highly qualified team and a low staff turnover, we ensure students experience consistency, care, and personalised learning every day.

School Where Everybody Knows Your Name - Nomination

Astor was founded by a mother who wanted something different for her children to the schools that were represented in the market. From the beginning, our mission has been to create a true community school—where every teacher, staff member, student, and parent feels a sense of belonging.

  • Every new student is welcomed personally by teachers and peers across classes.

  • With small class sizes, teachers can adapt lessons to each child’s needs.

  • Parents are active partners in learning, joining events like Book Day, Diversity Day, coffee mornings, and concerts.

When children feel at home, they develop confidence, empathy, and a love for learning. This strong community is at the heart of our nomination.

Best Affordable International School - Nomination

Affordability and flexibility are core to Astor’s identity. By focusing on academics, personalised care, and experiential learning, we make premium education accessible to more families in Singapore.

Highlights of our approach include:

  • Wide subject offering despite our size: 4 foreign languages, 9 sports (including swimming), and enrichment like Forest School.

  • Experiential learning: every IPC module includes field trips, and our students learn through hands-on projects.

  • Innovation in action: publishing novels (“Alexandra Around the World” and “Detective Leonardo Hawkins”), launching student-run businesses, and even adopting a kangaroo at the Singapore Zoo!

Our awards nominations validate that affordable education can also be world-class education.

A School Where Every Child Feels Heard

Astor International School isn’t just a place of learning—it’s a community where every child thrives. Whether it’s mushroom growing in science class, presenting to parents on Learning Journeys, or selling handmade goods for charity, our students are empowered to learn, lead, and express themselves.

These nominations from HoneyKids Asia celebrate what makes Astor unique:

  • Boutique size, big opportunities

  • Academic excellence with creativity and care

  • An inclusive, nurturing community for children and families

We are honoured to be recognised among Singapore’s leading schools. Thank you to our parents, students, and teachers who make Astor the warm and inspiring school it is today.
