Say hello to the Best Small School in Singapore of 2025, Astor International School, which also impressed judges by providing quality education at an affordable fee. Read all about its winning factor.
Astor International School scored two Golds in our Education Awards 2025, which is really no small feat! We’re talking about Gold for Best Small School of Singapore, as well as Gold for Most Affordable International School. Here’s what made the school come out tops.
Big on heart, yet easy on the wallet
Did you know that Astor International School was started by a mother, who was looking for a school for her children? This very same mother is still behind the reins at the school till this day! While there are no tournament standard football fields and swimming pools here, your child gets top-notch education in a welcoming environment. This was a purposeful move by the school, which chose to cut the frills to make education affordable to all.

Astor chooses to focus on what really matters. Students have a variety of programmes to choose from, such as four foreign languages as well as nine sports. Parents are also assured that their children are guided by highly experienced teachers, who treat them like their own. Class sizes are also intentionally kept small with an average of 15, allowing teachers to offer students a more personalised learning experience.
Astor International School makes learning fun, engaging, and hands-on, often going beyond the classroom in the form of frequent field trips and outdoor learning. Upper primary students get an opportunity to become published authors too: Astor International school has twice published the books writen by their students “Alexandra around the World” and “Detective Leonardo Hawkins” on Amazon. Enrichment classes like forest school and flora and fauna are a real hit as well! For added support, students have access to an English as a Second Language programme and student support, as well as counselling services.
To top it all off, Astor charges for only ten months of the year, excluding the June to August summer holidays. Plus, fees are also paid in monthly installments, without any hidden costs. How amazing is that?
Indeed, it’s all about the community

Community is at the core of Astor’s approach, which makes every child feel nurtured, seen, and heard. Parents are often invited to events, such as Diversity Days and Book Day. A highlight is the annual Learning Journeys programme, where parents are taught by their children for a day. Being in Astor truly feels like being part of one big family.
You’re a real winner in our books, Astor!
